WEE – Women in Energy Entrepreneurship

The Women in Energy Entrepreneurs supported 378  women entrepreneurs with technical assistance and grant incentives to help grow their business through efficient use of energy. 20 Kosovar women owned entrepreneurs selected in the competitive process, attended for a six month the Businesses Acceleration Program, part of the WEE program in partnership with the Santa Clara University’s Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship.

2,236,844.47 dollars were disseminated to women entrepreneurs through three types of grants available to accommodate different needs of women entrepreneurs across the country, small (SIMPLE) , medium (ADVANCED) and larger grants (SMART).  Investments included production equipment (machinery, ovens, refrigeration, etc.), heating-ventilation-and-air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, auxiliary equipment (pumps, motors, compressors, etc.), building related energy efficiency measures (insulation, windows), renewable energy solutions (solar PV panels, solar water heaters, solar dryers, etc.), but also equipment used in energy audits and energy assessments.
