MFK and MCC investing $10 million in Termokos
Prishtina citizens will soon be able to take control of their home heating expenditures. #PrishtinaHeatSave will support all those who use Termokos for heating to save, by paying their heating bills based on consumption rather than based on square meters.
Millennium Foundation Kosovo (MFK) supported by Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) will start implementing the District Heating Metering Activity (DHM) aiming to support the transition of district heating residential customers from area-based billing to consumption-based billing. As a result, 12,500 customers of Termokos network in Prishtina will be provided with heat metering equipment, thus reducing demand and enabling expansion of heat supply services to new consumers.
MFK, supported by MCC will be investing $10 million in equipping over 60,000 radiators with smart meters that enable smart measuring of expenditures. Besides reducing demand on the district heat network, DHM activity is expected to give power to consumers to take control of their home heating expenditures.
#PrishtinaHeatSave is a DHM Activity and one of the two main activities within the Reliable Energy Landscape Project (RELP) of the Threshold Program, which encourages greater household energy efficiency and facilitates the switch to non-electric and cleaner sources of heating.
