MCC Development Assistance Specialist

Shqipe Neziri Vela is a Development Assistance Specialist with the MCC Resident Country Mission in Kosovo. Ms. Vela has over 17 years of professional experience in democratization, anti-corruption, energy and environment sector at the central and municipal level. Her prior work experience includes various positions with institutions and organizations in Kosovo, Hungary and the United States, including the World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, OSCE, and U.S. House of Representatives.


Ms Vela holds a double MA degree in Public Administration & Public Policy from the Central European University (HU) and University of York (UK). She completed her BA degree in Management & Entrepreneurship at the American University in Kosovo. Ms. Vela is a contributor to Harvard’s Global Anti-Corruption Blog, Kosovo 2.0, and Flatra Magazine.


She teaches Public Policy & Governance at the American University in Kosovo and serves as a Board Member at the Association of Women in Energy Sector.
