US Senator Ernst supports Kosovar women to study in Iowa

Senator Joni Ernst, who represents the state of Iowa in the US Senate, has made a public invitation for Kosovar women to apply for the Kosovo Millennium Foundation scholarship program. Senator Ernst was last year elected as senior Republican leader in the Senate and is now known as one of the most powerful politicians in the US Legislature.

“Kosovo and Iowa have a very special bond,” Senator Ernst said, adding that she was proud that “Kosovo-Iowa co-operation is deepening beyond the cooperation between the National Guard and the KSF with a new focus on education and the agreement between the college of the Des Moines capital and the Millennium Foundation Kosovo aimed at creating women leaders in the energy sector.”

Senator Ernst in the video statement says that “helping women achieve equality in employment and success in entrepreneurship is the focus of the US Government. I congratulate the Millennium Foundation Kosovo for providing scholarships, internships and grants to women to achieve this goal.”

The Millennium Foundation’s “WE-Women in Energy” scholarship program is supported by the US government and aims to cover the full costs for 25 Kosovo women to study in America for two years in areas related to the energy sector. The announcement for the first scholarships is open and the information is available at mfk.arra.al/scholarships
